Jean L. Berezuk: B.S., Mathematics/ Elementary Education, Murray State University. Graduate classes at Old Dominion University and Governor's State University. Twenty-six years experience teaching mathematics, history, english, science, and the arts to 6-12. Certification held in Illinois, New York, Kentucky, and Virginia. At Renaissance Preparatory School, Mrs. Berezuk teaches mathematics on all levels, science on all levels, social sciences, Latin, and various arts enrichment classes.
Naila Bokhari: B/Tec National Diploma, Computer Studies, College of Northwest London; B.S., Computer Science and Mathematics, University of Southern Maine; M.Sc., Information Systems Engineering, South Bank University; M.A., Secondary Ed. in Mathematics, Roosevelt University. Fourteen years experience teaching math, science, and information technology. She is an educator with international teaching experience, working as a teacher-leader, program director and education consultant for mathematics and gifted education. She is a recipient of the Presidential Award For Teaching Excellence in Secondary Mathematics as well as a two-time Golden Apple Awards Nominee and has authored a number of supplementary books for teaching mathematics to gifted children. She regularly presents at national and international math and gifted conferences and works with schools and parents to establish programs and opportunities for gifted students. Mrs. Bokhari provides extensive training to classroom teachers and administrators on the topics of curriculum and differentiation, identification of mathematically talented students, best practices in mathematics teaching and project-based learning. At Renaissance Preparatory School, Mrs. Bokhari teaches math and science.
Victoria M. Carson: B.S.S.P., with distinction, Speech and Theatre, Northwestern University;M.A. Theatre, Northwestern University; Golden Key National Honor Society, Theatre Department Honors, Theatre Department Excellence Award; Illinois Theatre Association Board -- Chair of Creative Drama Division; Golden Apple Nominee. Eighteen years experience teaching speech, theatre, drama, social studies, and language arts/literature on the junior high, senior high, and college level. At Renaissance Preparatory School, Mrs. Carson teaches social sciences, rhetoric and composition, modern and classical literature, French, speech, theatre and drama, dance, and Shakespeare.
Joanne Ryan: N.D., with distinction, University of Waterford, Ireland. Studied with Ping Chong at Amsterdam Summer University. Beginning work on M.A. in Visual Art. Four years experience teaching visual art in Ireland, the Irish Heritage Center in Chicago, Summer School at University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, and Renaissance Preparatory School. She has exhibited in Cork, Waterford, and Dublin in Ireland as well as Amsterdam and Copenhagen. At Renaissance Preparatory School, Ms. Ryan teaches visual art, art history, art theory, and visual art appreciation.
Renaissance Preparatory School also employs several part-time instructors who teach workshops and master classes.
