Evaluation and Reporting
- Standardized Testing: At the Elementary and Middle School levels, the students are tested yearly through seventh grade. In eighth grade, the Explorer test is taken. In high school, ACT and SAT test preparation is offered.
- Evaluation: At Renaissance Preparatory School, a variety of assessment options are available, with the choice limited only to the most effective and appropriate to the task. From authentic assessment videos of projects to formal essay responses, the student's work is kept in a file for self-evaluation and possible inclusion in the portfolio which will represent progress from matriculation to graduation or withdrawal.
- Reporting: On the 5-7th grade level, Renaissance Preparatory School provides written evaluations of the progress made by students. No letter grade is assigned to their work as a narrative is a more accurate and complete picture. On the high school level, letter grades are assigned to the students' work and progress is reported after the first and third quarters, with grades issued on an Official Grade Report after the first and second semesters. If an 8th grader is earning high school credit in any course, an Official Grade Report will be issued. After Graduation, or withdrawal for any reason, an Official Final Transcript is issued certifying all credits and grades earned at Renaissance Preparatory School.
